One of the many things people misunderstand about Autism is that we are socially inept and we can't adapt.
That's false:
Speaking from experience I can adapt to many things. I wouldn't say I like change and change does not come easy. But I do understand social aspects.
We are also very social people who are open to others who let us be ourselves around them. But when there are miscommunications and people I do not vibe with, I know for myself that I close up like a book.
