My son loves football and is so pleased when his little sisters want to learn to play with him. Before this video he had spent ages showing his sister how to kick a ball, how to score a goal and how to direct a ball to go in the direction you want it to go. The video makes it look easy but the it does not show the numerous failed attempts she had first- the tears, the tantrums when she couldn’t do it. When we see a video of someone’s achievements we can sometimes make the mistake of assuming that the endpoint we are seeing came easily and effortlessly. It is what makes us frustrated when we try something to do the same thing and it doesn’t work. You have no idea how much pain or suffering may have gone on behind the scenes, you do not know how many hours of practice it has taken them, how many attempts at their goal they had before they achieved success. Celebrate others’ success and don’t beat yourself up if you are finding the same goal difficult. Believe in yourself and your time will come 👊
