Do you prioritise your relationship with your partner? It is something that parents often forget to do because they are so busy worrying about their children’s needs. Many marriages can break down due to the stress of caring for their children - the financial worry; the lack of time available to be you rather than mum or dad; the anger, guilt or anxiety created when your children misbehave; it can be exhausting and emotionally draining, especially when you are also trying to work around the children. Having a night out together, even if it is only once a month will give you the space to be a couple again. You can have an adult conversation without being constantly interrupted and can remind yourselves what attracted you to each other in the first place. You may think that paying for a babysitter to go out is not good use of your hard earned cash, but think about how important your relationship is. The happiness you feel when you are together, the support your partner gives you, the stability you give to your children by both being permanently present in their life. Is it worth £100 a month? I would suggest it is far more than that - it is priceless. Make your relationship a priority for you and get a date night booked in. You are worth it!
