My Quiet Battle and the Journey Toward Renewal
To every incredible mother here, today I share a slice of my story, not in sorrow, but as a glimmer of hope and a tribute to our enduring strength.
There was a period, not too distant in the past, when I was constantly tormented by negative thoughts and feelings, limiting beliefs.
My mind and body believed that I was not good enough, not deserving, not worthy enough of having anything more in life, especially that of money.
Progress felt stagnant, as each step forward seemed to be countered with lots of mental and emotional resistance, particularly when it came to money.
There were repetitive financial blows one after the other for many years and every setback as a result confirmed my deepest insecurities.
My confidence and self-belief were at an all-time low.
These thoughts weren't fleeting; they evolved into persistent negative patterns and emotional dependencies, trapping me in a cycle of self-doubt and negativity, struggling to shift what I was thinking, feeling and believing.
How did I find myself caught in this negative spiral?
How had I allowed these self-deprecating thoughts and constant emotional turmoil to burden me?
More importantly, how could I break free?
Mothers, we aim to stand strong for our families, dispensing endless love and care for them.
Yet, we frequently neglect our own self care, well-being, overwhelmed by anxiety and stress, and resorting to damaging coping strategies, like suppressing our emotions, putting ourselves down, that constant berating of the self, emotionally eating/stress eating, or resorting to alcohol, smokes, drugs, fatty and sugary foods to make us feel better and to find some relief.
We fail to recognize the incredible women we are.
But here’s an important realization from my journey: To care for others, we must first care for ourselves and go within to heal our hurts and pains at the level of the subconscious mind, within the nervous system and energy field. To give love, we must first find self love within us.
Now, I stand transformed, not because my challenges disappeared overnight, but because I learned to navigate through and overcome my anxieties, fears and stressors, to quieten the mind of the negative noise, to change my beliefs, to rejuvenate my spirit, and to truly appreciate my worth.
My adversities have only made me stronger, enhancing my empathy and understanding toward others' struggles and being able to better help my own mum clients through their own challenges of life and motherhood.
I encourage you, cherished mothers, to free yourselves from the chains of negative thinking, self doubt, overwhelming emotions, stress, harmful habits, and self-imposed barriers and limitations.
You have all the resources and powers within you to be able to change what you think, feel, believe and perceive.
You can heal from your past hurts and pains, future worries and anxieties. You are not fixed the way you are.
Remember, each time we overcome our doubts and fears, finding strength in adversity, we do not merely uplift ourselves. We become role models for our children, of any age, illustrating the essence of resilience, strength, calm, bravery, self-respect, and transformation.
By mastering our thoughts and emotions, changing our beliefs to empowering and supportive ones, we can become our best mum or woman self and in doing so we also live a better life.
As a result, we don't just flourish mentally, emotionally and physically; we thrive more in body, mind and life, laying the foundations for our own children to learn from our daily role model of self care, calm and emotional responsibility.
Here's to us, the mothers who face trials, challenges, persist, and come out stronger, for ourselves and our children.
Here's to breaking free and flourishing!
