Hyaluronic acid is most beneficial for dry and oily skin types. This is because it delivers a boost of hydration to thirsty skin and doesn’t increase the oil production for those oily skin types. That being said, it can work for people with any skin type — even those who have sensitive skin. It can also be used along side retinol because it is hydrating and not exfoliating.
Niacinamide is very gentle and can be used by all it helps build cells in the skin while also protecting them from environmental stresses, such as sunlight, pollution, and toxins and helps to treat acne.
Glycolic acid is best for normal, combination and oily skin. It has the potential to irritate dry and sensitive skin types.
Lactic Acid is best for sensitive and dry skin types as it’s one of the weaker of the acids.
Retinol can be used on all skin types, although sensitive skin types should tread carefully. It works best on mature and acne prone skin.
