#raisingboys

As a mum of 4 boys the loves the laughter and many tears.

My journey started on a new years eve back in 1990.
I was drunk with a bunch of friends at a local pub singing dancing and having the best time, thats when I met Him.
The love of my life my friend, my Island and the father of our amazing humans.

We got a home we got married and started our family in January 1998 when we had Jordy. Lots of mess and huge emotions of the struggle as a first time parent. Looking after a human without any supervision, we tried to take him back on day 5 because he was broken and so was I. I was bleeding swollen and a sobbing mess, he was screaming and never settled. Well apparently he was just hungry🤣 the amazing nurse gave him a bottle and gave me alot of advice.
That made the world of difference.

Four years later and another house move we had Coops then 18mnths later we had Ethan, then 18 mnths later our Angel baby Oscar, a premmie baby that was very sick.
Then 2 years later we completed our family Fletch.

The challenges
The struggle with meeting the needs of each individual is all about juggling the importance. Who needs what when, keep talking and working out what works when as they get older it gets easier to communicate, but the problems get bigger.
The mealtimes
With fussy eaters to nightowls its like living in a chateau, cars coming and going.
Our kitchen is a hive of activity at most times and thats why appliances are great, from airfryers, Thermomix and coffee machines. Snacks meals and dietary needs are meet with 2 fridges 1 frezzer and 2 pantries and a 2.4m long kitchen bench.
The boys are pretty good cooks or on the bbq, they will whip up tasty treats for all but the table is a hive of discussions.

The art of raising boys is an on going job I am now starting to enjoy. I currently have 1 in a long term relationship, 1 completed his second degree and 2 on a European adventure.
This is my journey beyond just a mum.
