Leaving Reddit and Quora: Seeking Positive and Informative Online Communities

The reasons for leaving Reddit and Quora due to extreme negativity and seeing the benefits of platforms like ZZatem, where viewpoints and quality content thrive.

Leaving Reddit and Quora: Seeking Positive and Informative Online Communities

I recently left Reddit and Quora because of the extreme hatred. Some of the comments and posts are borderline bullying in truth. I’m OK with a little bit of rude or insensitive, neutral comment, however, what some people are saying, makes others more bitter and pessimistic. The anonymity of many of the accounts is actually quite toxic.

The Toxicity of Downvotes and Anonymity

The downvotes in particular seem not to be a statement of disagreement or disapproval. For instance, one would post information, or ask a question provide good neutral information, and it was downvoted. It’s hard to find good information when there’s so much negativity and hate for what could be valuable in an otherwise busy and noisy world of data. People's time is too valuable. They need to be able to access good information more quickly.

Moderation Bias and Left-Leaning Harassment

Some people feel as though the left-leaning harassment from moderators is inappropriate. Sometimes you have to listen to what Trump says, and consider that it might be real or that he might just be kidding.

Why I Prefer ZZatem

I like ZZatem because they allow different posts and blogs of different viewpoints. Also, there are no downvotes. I can find good information on a variety of different topics and look at the number of views in order to decide where to spend my time. ZZatem doesn’t run all bots and re-posts like other media sites as well.

The Staleness of Older Legacy Sites

I think that some of the older legacy sites are getting a bit stale. Far too many pseudo-intellectuals acting snobbish and flexing. I would rather have good quality posts and blogs not surpassed by low-level attention-getting up and down votes influencing my selections. Also, I don’t need any more fake accounts or fake stories. It will only get sympathy for victims. Is it unjust to ask for some accountability in this day and age?

Imagining a Better Online Community

What would happen if there was a site where you could speak the truth without getting banned by a moderator or covered up in negativity?
