The life of an ADHD entrepreneur is a wild one. I wanted to share a story with you, maybe give you a giggle! I was just mulling over a nifty gift for my client – someone big in the marketing scene and a total hoodie and mug junkie. My brain, never one to sit still for long, was like, “What if we sent her a hoodie with a sassy marketing slogan?”.
I did some research online, and everything was meh. I open up my trusty AI pal, ChatGPT. “create me some killer marketing t-shirt slogans for a laugh!” And, like always, it came through. Each slogan had me grinning more than the last.
- "404: Fashion not found!"
- "There's no place like 127.0.0.1."
- "I’m not an influencer, but I play one on Instagram."
- "In a relationship with algorithms."
- "Eat. Sleep. PPC. Repeat."
- "Pixel perfect since [birth year]."
- "Will work for organic traffic."
- "Cookies? I prefer the tracking kind."
- "Blink if you want better SEO."
- "I drop cookies, not beats."
- "I like my ads how I like my coffee: highly targeted."
- "Every day I’m funnelin’."
Instead of just picking a slogan and calling it a day, I thought, "WAIT, what if I turn it into an actual thing? I can monetize his" Yup, the ADHD wheels were turning. i am a pro a Canva i can create designs in minutes, and use one of my Etsy stores to sell. Throw in some pod dropshipping action, and I was onto something BI *insert evil laugh*
Now, let me tell ya, the world of YouTube is a rabbit hole. One video led to another, and I was living for all the e-commerce gurus spilling their secrets. Their promises of fame, fortune, and entrepreneurial glory? Utterly irresistible. I even signed up for some free checklists and training.
Flash forward just 5 hours, and voilà! From pondering gifts to almost launching a fresh-as-a-daisy t-shirt store on Etsy. I just cannot help myself! Not to mention I still have my WordPress website and a hundred other things that need doing. I fall asleep - the next day and forget it ever happened.
Now, here's the tea: if you, like me, sometimes struggle with focus, don't beat yourself up. There’s no shame in it. Overwhelm is as real as it gets, especially in our fast-paced world. Instead of getting down on yourself, consider rallying a support squad. Maybe that's a coach who gets your vibe, an accountability partner to keep you on track, or even a community of like-minded dreamers who can prop you up when the going gets tough.
Truth bomb: it’s not always about going it alone. Sometimes, a little nudge, a reminder, or a shared goal can do wonders. When the path seems foggy, they help shine a light, guiding you toward your dream
Just 5 hours later, what began as a simple gift idea evolved into an exciting t-shirt venture on Etsy, that I have forgotten about - And that's the ADHD entrepreneur life for you – ever-changing, always vibrant. Hold on tight; it's one exhilarating journey!
