Like many parents, I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed recently.
My son is about to leave primary school and it's brought a world of emotions.

 

The last day of primary school is a significant milestone in any child’s life. 

It marks the end of an era filled with early learning, friendships and experiences. 

As a parent, guiding our children through this transition can help them face the day with confidence and excitement rather than apprehension and sadness. 

So I’ve been thinking about some thoughtful ways to support them as they bid farewell to primary school.

They might feel excitement about the new adventures ahead in secondary school but also sadness at leaving behind familiar faces and places. 

It's important to acknowledge and validate these feelings.

Sharing your own memories of leaving primary school can help your child feel understood and less alone.
