8.5 years ago my children were 18 months, 3 8 and I was sick and tired of the Hamster wheel, work and hour- get paid an hour.
I was self employed and trading my time for money. I was running 12 baby signing classes a week, I had employed another person to also run classes in my area - I was training nurseries on baby signing in the evenings. I was capped. I had no more hours in the day to work - therefore I couldn’t earn any more money. When I was introduced to the concept of network marketing I feel totally blessed that I just got it. An online business i could build in the evenings when my kids were in bed. Build it up until my income matched what I was earning in my franchise.
I WAS ALL IN.
18 months afterwards I was able to sell the franchise - and be on - what I can only describe as permanent maternity leave! When you feel like you are off but being paid?!
This has not been an overnight success. I ‘work’ all the time, from my phone, as and when I choose.
My new years resolution is to actually switch off at the weekends where possible and have Wednesday nights off too. It’s taken 8 years to get to this point - but I can hand on heart say this is the best paid maternity leave like ever ever ever.
