Stepping stones to consider
1- Voiceover videos are great for allowing your audience to get to know you without the pressure of looking camera-ready. You can do this by creating the video first and then adding your voiceover, but I find the easiest way is to record the sound first as a video (but it can literally be a black screen, it doesn't matter), head to CapCut and "extract audio", and then add photos/clips to match what you're saying.
2- Being in the video without talking still gives the viewer that sense of connection. You're still showing up and showing that the person behind the account is only human.
3- Sharing small stories and little details about your business allows your audience to paint a more detailed picture of the person and passion that drives the business even if they don't have a face for the name.
Shoutout to Sarah White
While all of those ideas can be really powerful and can absolutely be enough to get the results you want out of social media, if getting over that uncomfortable feeling is one of the goals you're working towards, I highly recommend having a chat with Sarah White. I have been a member of her group, Visibly You, for about a year and a half now and it has made such a difference to my business! Previously, the best advice I had been given was to just do it and believe that it gets easier. I mean, when it comes down to it, that is exactly what you have to do... but knowing that doesn't make it any easier. Sarah helped me believe that I am the expert in my field and that what I have to say is worth listening to. And that's a much more powerful belief to hold onto to.
