Behind First Time Prepper is a Gen X mama living in a small village in the UK.
Growing up I learned to sew and cook, to craft and grow, to mend and make do, to make jam and bottle preserves, to have a working pantry and so much more!
These skills of yesteryear are very much in decline but formed part of our ability to take the bumps in the road of life with more resilience.
I dream of a more self sufficient life and one day I hope to get there. In the meantime, in my very ordinary 3 bed semi, I increase my skill base and fall back on what I learned as a child, alongside my mother and my cherished grandma.
I thought I'd share some of what I've learned along the way so that you, too, can see what is possible for you, even when you don't (yet!) have the space or place that you dream of!
First Time Prepper is a series of blogs about resilience and those little bumps in the road. Practical tips, lived experience and things to think about along the way. Thanks for stopping by!
