Easing the Burden for Children with Disabilities

Access to clean water remains a daily struggle for many schools in rural Kenya. Charera Special School, a school for children with disabilities, is no exception. Students and staff at Charera have had to rely on seasonal rivers for their water supply. This means that children with physical impairments are tasked with walking miles to fetch water, carrying heavy containers back to school—an ordeal that is physically exhausting and unsafe.
