Are you lonely in your business?
Being self employed has some amazing benefits but when your Christmas party is a table for one and your monthly social is just me, myself and I… well, it gets lonely.
I have been self employed for over a decade and while I love it, I also have times when I feel totally alone, even though I work WITH people every day!
Last year I decided I wanted to be part of a network of business owners who ‘got it’. Who I could bounce ideas off, collaborate with and yes, socialise with too!
I love my friends and family but they don’t always understand my love of running my own business so it was essential for me to create a community around me that can support me AND I can help too!
A few years back I came across Mums in Business International and enjoyed the posts, interactions and free trainings. I went to my local group and enjoyed it but something didn’t click back then. I decided to lean into the group again and at the end of last year I booked a one to one with the CEO and founder, Leona Burton.
She was great! Insightful, supportive and of course, kick ass – just how I like a business coach to be haha!
She guided me to be more present in the group so I shared a post about being open to be a guest on other people’s podcast. I was inundated with invitations which was AMAZING!
My local group leader reached out and we had a chat. I told her about my desire to be part of a community and, because of my previous experience, she suggested I became a leader myself!
It didn’t take me long to mull it over and I took over Mums in Business Glasgow and Lanarkshire as their Leader and head cheerleader!!
So far I have done an online meet up group and on the 23rd of January we’ll be having our first in-person meet up in the Waterstone’s Cafe, Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow – 10:15-12noon (there are still tickets to join us – you can get yours HERE!)
I can’t wait to meet everyone as well as show them HOW to create a kick ass Marketing Campaign that helps them keep focused and helps their customers find them and buy from them!!
Already I feel that I’m part of a team, there has already been amazing collaborations – looking at you Suzie Sapphire (our amazing offering in Sovereign Wisdom) and some social meet ups too!
What I love is there are local groups WORLDWIDE so there will no doubt be a group near you, and if not, set your own up – just contact Leona or a local leader (or get in touch with me and I’ll pop you in the right direction!)
There’s also a fabulous membership group that’s currently only £12pm (going up to £27pm soon!) that has so much to offer including trainings, speaking opportunities and more!
I have to say, I no longer feel that I’m on my own and one thing I know for sure – my next Christmas night out will be jam packed with amazing women!!
