Diving into the world of networking with a mindset of 'going all in' is about committing wholeheartedly to the process of building and nurturing professional relationships. It's an approach that underscores authenticity, dedication, and the willingness to invest in others. Let's explore how going all in authentically can be a powerful way to build a network based on trust and reciprocity.

Embracing Authentic Dedication:

To go all in means to approach networking with genuine intent and dedication. It involves more than just attending events or exchanging business cards. It's about engaging in meaningful conversations, showing a real interest in others' successes and challenges, and offering help without immediately expecting something in return. This level of authentic engagement communicates sincerity and commitment, which are essential for building trust. Trust is the cornerstone of any lasting relationship, and it's especially vital in professional networking. By going all in, you demonstrate reliability and integrity. Trust is earned over time through consistent, genuine interactions and by proving that you are someone who values the relationship beyond its immediate utility.

It means staying in touch, following up, remembering important details, and being there for people even when there's no immediate benefit to you. This long-term perspective is what turns contacts into connections and connections into valuable relationships. I have to admit I do find this much easier when I have spoken to someone face to face and not just in threads online but I do find when I see names on social media engaging in content I do remember them better.

Taking Risks and Being Open to Opportunities:

Sometimes, going all in means taking risks — whether it's reaching out to someone you admire, speaking at an event, or sharing an innovative idea. It's about stepping out of your comfort zone and being open to opportunities, even when they feel a bit intimidating. These risks often lead to the most rewarding connections and growth opportunities. This month I am stepping out of my comfort zone and speaking on stage in front of 500 people I have not met before! This came about because I commented on a post on social media and then we began to chat and built a relationship and we're collaborating on a project. I have been on 5 podcasts in as many months and I have live interviews in different communities over the coming weeks about my story I have been guest featured in The Happy Business Express and in several blogs on other websites. 

Taking Action:

Reflect on your approach to networking. Are you holding back in any way? Identify one area where you can go all in more authentically. It might be reaching out to someone for a mentorship, volunteering for a leadership role in a professional group, or simply offering your expertise to someone in need.

Going all in with authenticity is about being fully present, genuinely engaged, and committed to the long haul in your networking efforts. It’s about building relationships based on trust, leading to a robust network where reciprocity and support are the norms. Remember, the depth of your network is often more important than its breadth.
