Do you still need reasons to learn basic Self Defence skills?
This year I’ll be talking a lot more about the reality of violence against women and girls.
Some of it will make uncomfortable reading- but all of it is to get the message across as to why knowing some basic skills is important.
This isn’t to scare you or frighten you but to raise awareness as to why these skills are important.
Violence can happen to anyone
-Young
-Old
-School age
-Professionals
It doesn’t discriminate.
And it can happen anywhere and as you can see from the graphics unfortunately often from people who you know.
But just being aware and having the most basic of skills can help you - and potentially prevent an incident from happening at all.
Are you ready to make 2024 the year you learn the skills to keep you safe?

NO EXCUSE!!
There is never an excuse for violence against women and girls. Full Stop.🛑
We are currently in the 16 Days of Activism for the UN Elimination of Violence against Women.
This marks 16 days of activism for raising awareness of gender based violence against Women.
However we don’t need 16 special days to make us aware - as we sadly see it on a daily basis in our work.
Did you know:
* More than five women or girls are killed every hour by someone in their own family.
* Almost one in three women have been subjected to physical and/or sexual violence at least once in their life.
* 86% of women and girls live in countries without legal protections against gender-based violence.
Across the world Violence against women manifests itself as:
*intimate partner violence (battering, psychological abuse, marital rape, femicide);
* sexual violence and harassment (rape, forced sexual acts, unwanted sexual advances, child sexual abuse, forced marriage, street harassment, stalking, cyber- harassment);
* human trafficking (slavery, sexual exploitation);
* female genital mutilation; and
* child marriage.
💥At Strike Back we are on a mission to play our part to end this!
It’s a bold statement- but we are determined to change the stats as much as we can.
We are looking for an army of women to join us….ARE YOU IN? 🔥
