February is the perfect time of year to take stock of your life and recharge your batteries. It can be a bleak month, with the post-festive slump and colder weather hitting many parts of the world.

However, in many countries, it's also a great opportunity to get some rest while the rest of the world continues on its busy way.

There are lots of ways to recharge your batteries this February. A winter getaway, a spa day, or simply staying home and taking it easy are all great options for retooling your mindset and getting yourself back on track. I caught up on some box sets and read lots of books so far and we have a family wedding at the end of the month.

So why is February the best month to do this? Well, there are a few reasons. First of all, there are no major holidays (unless you count Valentine's) in the month, so there aren't as many people travelling or busy with family obligations.

Secondly, the weather can be quite cold and dreary in some parts of the world this time of year, which can help put things into perspective and make you appreciate your home a little more.

And finally, where it's still wintertime, nature is at its most barren and beautiful - the perfect backdrop for some dedicated rest. I took photos of the most stunning frosty spiderwebs and frozen puddles and lavender bushes a few weeks back- there is always beauty to be found when we look for it.

So if you need a break, don't hesitate to take it. You've earned it! Whether you're heading out on a weekend trip or just staying in with your favourite book, make sure to treat yourself to some much-needed downtime this month.
