Discover how one woman transitioned from a passionate Muay Thai fighter to concentrating on building a successful career, embracing challenges, and inspiring others along the way.

How I changed my mindset from chasing my hobbie as a muay thai fighter to concentrating on a career.

For 18 years I have trained in a martial art in Muay Thai which is punches, kicks, knees and elbows. I started competing in my first year I was a complete raw novice and got thrown in at the deep end so challenges have never been a problem for me. I won and I lost against some of the best ladies in Europe and the world at my weight. I lost but I went the distance.   I trained 6 x a week in muay thai then I would run before work or a strength and conditioning. In Thailand I lived there for a spell of 9 months, 9 weeks, 3 months, 6 weeks, 3 weeks where I would train twice a day where I lived and breathed the sport.  I made sacrifices I missed out on alot of nights out and meals because it interfered with my training schedule.

Several times I got knocked down more from people's comments than in the ring. What's the point if your gona lose.  When your fighting people better than you that can happen but it made me grow rather than competing against woman who were less experienced.

I wasn't afraid to step of out of my comfort zone and wasn't afraid to fail but naturally I didn't want to. So now iv retired im using this mindset to focus on a career and leaving a different type of comfort zone so I can make a successful career.  I am going to make mistakes and learn from them.

Being inspired by others ie kiki / kirsty Smith, before she made a success from liquid lipo as a scientist you fail many times before you finalise your product. So many people will fail once and that's it oh I can't do it. Iv learnt you never will if you give up after the first fail.

Same with me Iv had to work so hard putting up posts that don't get noticed, likes and comments can knock you. Some treatments didnt get the best results I wanted for clients, obviously i had good ones too. Sometimes I would forget what I done well in and remembered the work I didn't do as well and it would get to me and doubt myself as a therapist. Several cancellations then that self doubt am I going to have to go back to a job I hate for the safety net.  However it really affected me mentally and now I enjoy working and helping people so I know I only have me.tp rely on.

I have only just started working for myself for 6 months, but along side my hobbie I was always in and out of college and doing courses and worked I job I hated and only fully left a year ago.

My advice to anyone if your currently in a job you hate but can't leave yet.  We all have some time that we waste sometimes whether its sitting around, binging on Netflix and scrolling.  Just dedicate some time even if its one evening a week around work just to get the ball rolling and keep going untill your in a better position to apply for a more suitable position or work for yourself.  Also finding a hobbie can also lead to a career after years of training muay thai.  I am also a Personal trainer and teach Muay thai to kids for 121s and adults teaching self defence and fitness.

My business is called My Time, Body Technician at home I do holistic treatments ans more.  I am based on the Prenton/ wirral

If anyone gives it or me a follow I will follow you back also
