Portraits are personal

When it comes to giving a meaningful and creative gift, a custom digital portrait is a great choice. A portrait captures the essence of a person in a unique and artistic way. It goes beyond a simple photograph and adds a touch of creativity to any space or occasion.

As an artist, I have always been fascinated by the power of portraits to capture the essence of a person and bring it to life in a tangible, creative form. Even in today’s fast paced world of an endless stream of images portraits have the power to transcend time, culture, and emotion.

Portraits are Personal

For many years, I used to only paint my friends and family members. I knew my sitters well and every painting was an emotional rollercoaster of seeing them come to life. When I felt like they looked at me and could talk to me, I knew their portrait was complete. It had gradually stopped being just a painting and had acquired a life of its own.

I was a student in The Netherlands, when my grandmother back in Bulgaria passed away. My natural response was to spend the next few days painting her portrait. It hangs in my living room to this day, and it makes me feel safe knowing that she’s still watching over me.

Then one day I picked up my iPad, opened Procreate and created my first digital portraits, then the second.

Initially I was unsure what to do with these first few digital drawing. The portraits were beautiful but very different from my usual style. I scheduled a call with Jonas Almgren, the former CEO of Artfinder, and I showed them to him. His feedback was very positive and soon after I accepted my first digital portrait commission.

“Ah wow!” Said my collector. “Can you paint another portrait in the next two weeks?”. Of course, I agreed! Both the portraits she commissioned were gifts.

If you'd like to expore the idea of creating a digital portrait, for yourself, your partner, child or best friend, please get in touch! I look forward to hearing from you :)
