A Wedding Planner in simple terms brings your dreams into reality
I know, that's made your question as clear as mud!
Let's break it down. There are lots of elements to being a Wedding Planner and it ultimately comes down to how much involvement you as the couple want as to what a Wedding Planner will do
A Wedding Planner can:
Sources Venue and Suppliers
Budget Management
Designing the decor - ideas/moodboard
Dressing the venue based on moodboard
Guide on legal requirement timelines
Coordinate the day
- meeting suppliers, ensuring your in the right place at the right term, guiding your guests to where they need to be, implementing back up plans when needed,
Most of all a Wedding Planner keeps you calm and takes the stress away!!!
Yes there is a lot to organise but a Wedding Planner is an expert in their field and if they're any good will actually save you money as they will be ensuring you find the right suppliers for your budget and not spending on unneccessary elements - eg wedding favours that are just going to get left behind
Now Wedding Planner and Wedding Coordinator have become an interspersed term. Most Planners offer On the Day Coordination no matter which package you buy from them.
For instance I offer 3 packages:
On the Day Coordination
- meet 6-8 weeks before hand, you hand over all your detailed plans to me and I then ensure nothing is missing and then contact all suppliers so that any further queries come through me, I meet them on the morning and then guide them and yours guests as required
Full Service Planning
- I plan your wedding from the moment you're engaged to the moment you get married and include coordination as part of this process. I do all the research on suppliers for your style and budget, showcase 3-5 to you, you pick and then I organise the contracts - you're still legally the one who pays the suppliers, some will offer a discount for booking with me but not all and I will pick suppliers for you to choose regardless of this
Flexible Planning
- you want to plan the whole thing but also want an expert on hand as and when required or to just check you're on the right track and yes you guessed it, I will also coordinate the day!
A recent wedding I stepped in to coordiante last minute called me "a must have addition to your wedding day. Not only does she take away all the stress and anxiety around planning your wedding, she also does a lot of work in the back ground on your big day ensuring things run as smoothly as possible"
Hopefully this has helped your understanding of what a Wedding Planner is and what they do.
Of course if you have any questions please do reach out, I am here to help!
