Anyone who reads will tell you that books are a fabulous way to escape the read world. Getting lost in a story is the perfect way to unwind and live a different life for a while - it's also the reason we write! 

However, accessibility is an important thing these days. Not everyone has the visual capacity to read a book, even with large print. One way to combat this is by turning your books into audiobooks.

Audiobooks allow readers who are visually impaired to listen to your stories and enjoy them in a different way. It's hard for most of us to imagine what it would be like to lose the ability to read a physical book and no longer have that form of escape, but it is a fact that it happens. By offering an audio option, you can reach those who would struggle with reading a paperback or ebook and allow their reading journey to continue.

If you are confident and have the equipment to make it happen, you can narrate your own works and make them available on Amazon, Audible, and iBooks. There are other places, but these are the places I am most familiar with. 

If you don't think narrating is for you check out ACX. There is a huge selection of narrators there and while most charge for their services, there are plenty of new producers who will offer to work with you for a royalty share, which means no upfront cost to you. They simply get a share of your earnings, making it possible to get started without breaking the bank.
