Ah, the quest for "me time" – for me, a journey that often involves hiding in the bathroom, pretending to be occupied, while secretly scrolling through social media. We've all been there, desperately seeking solitude amidst the chaos of daily life. Can you resonate? He he. That’s Self Care right there.
Or. Who needs a spa day when you have Netflix? Sometimes, the best way to unwind is by indulging in a guilty pleasure TV marathon. So, grab your comfiest pajamas, a bowl of popcorn the size of your head, or an ice cream. Whatever! And prepare to lose yourself in the captivating world of fictional characters. Remember, it's all in the name of self-care!
Before we begin, did you do your yoga today? Yoga, finding inner piece and all that bull. Or, in my case, my pathetic attempt to twist my body into pretzel-like shapes while trying not to fall over. Let's face it, self-care can sometimes involve a few yoga fails, but the laughter that ensues is worth every wobbly pose.
Now go and sit on that sofa to undo all your hard work!
Did you fall asleep watching that boring series that you started for the hundredth time? Now get off that sofa, you lazy bum. Get to the wash room NOW and look at the art on your face. Buahaha! Aaah. Now you remember. face masks – the ultimate symbol of self-care. There's something oddly satisfying about slathering your face with a gooey substance and pretending to be a creature from another planet. But let's not forget the hilarious struggle of trying to remove said face mask without looking like a *insert an inappropriate insult of your choice here, LOL!* It’s really a test. That so called self care.
Self-care isn't complete without a little indulgence in comfort food. Whether it's a pint of ice cream, a plate of warm cookies, or a mountain of cheesy fries, treating yourself to your favorite guilty pleasure is a must. Just remember to savor every bite and embrace the temporary escape from reality. But don’t start thinking about it again. You just had it while trying to watch that piece of crap on Netflix. Booo.
BUT. In the grand scheme of things, self-care is about finding joy in the little moments, even if they involve face masks, shitty Netflix marathons, or yoga fails. Remember, laughter is the best therapy, so keep smiling and embracing the hilarity that life throws our way!
