You often hear people say that life changes in a blink of an eye, but you never give it any real thought until it happens!

Well thats my experience. For the last 9 years life has been pretty good, there have been a few issues but nothing that really rocked my world. My husband has always worked hard and provided and I have been left to bob along, doing what I like to do with no real focus other than to share love and kindness.

We were making plans to slow down his working so we could concentrate on travelling and enjoying our passions, the only thing stopping us really were the financial repercussions of COVID. After returning from holiday we made the decision and put a plan in place, in 12 months he would step down.

I remember the excitement and relief of that night, I went to bed imagining of all the places we would visit and things we would do, there would be a lot of hard work to do to make it happen but it was possible and then in an instant all that changed!

I was woken in the early hours with him fitting and  blood everywhere, luckily the ambulance arrived quickly and he was rushed to hospital where he was placed in a coma and I was told it was 50/50 chance of survival.

My heart stopped and so did our income. A week later the realisation hit that I didn't have the luxury of waiting to see what was going to happen, I needed to make difficult decisions, fast! He was not going to be able to work for the foreseeable future and I needed to be thinking of what I could do to build a new life for us both.

Taking the bull by the horns, I signed a new lease on a premises that I could manage regardless of whether he survived or not. Heartless maybe but realistically i had to rule him out of the picture 

I have never been so scared in all my life, I was bringing to life  a dream that we had but hadn't planned to implement for another 12 months into a building that he hadn't even seen.

Thats the thing though, you have 2 choices. 
Do nothing, freeze and worry about everything or embrace the changes and make the best out of difficult situations, I chose the latter, with no money, just a vision and the goodwill of family and friends!
