In my world of crafting, where imagination and creativity collide, getting my work noticed can be a rewarding yet challenging endeavor. I found the key to unlocking new opportunities, collaborations, and personal growth lay in the art of networking. In this blog, I will explore the import

The Importance of Networking for Woman in Business in A Rural Area

Networking allows us to connect with like-minded individuals, potential customers, and fellow artisans. Here's why I believe that networking is crucial for your next steps in your business journey:

  1. Visibility and Exposure: Networking helps you showcase your work to a broader audience. It gives you the opportunities to find out about events going on in your area, join online communities, and leverage social media platforms to share your creations, services. It also gets you out there meeting new people and getting your business out into the world beyond your front door.

  2. Collaborations and Opportunities: Building a network of like minded people opens doors to collaborations with other crafters, businesses, and organisations. These collaborations can lead to exciting projects, joint ventures, and increased exposure. Something I have gained greatly since becoming not only a member of Mums in Business but a group leader too.

  3. Learning and Growth: Networking provides access to a wealth of knowledge and expertise within the business community of what is happening in your area. Engaging with others allows you to learn new techniques, gather valuable tips, and stay updated on industry trends.

  4. Support System: Mums in business South Aberdeenshire is a community of very supportive, friendly and understanding ladies who you'll often find living and working in rural areas. Networking for me with the wonderful members, has  allowed us to connect with people who share your passion, offering a support system during both the highs and lows of your creative journey.

Why Did I Become a Leader with Mums in Business, South Aberdeenshire: A Life-Changing Experience:

I was very fortunate to be asked to become a leader for Mums in Business (Mib) South Aberdeenshire and since then not only have I supported many women from all sorts of businesses it's has given me to confidence to believe in myself and get out there more with my handcrafted items. Here's a glimpse into how since becoming a leader it has been life changing for me:

  1. Community Engagement: Leading a networking group has allowed me to engage with the local community, fostering a sense of togetherness and shared passions. I have made many friends with the ladies thatvI didn't even realise were on my own doorstep and have gone on to recommend their services and products both locally and further afield.

  2. Skill Enhancement: Taking on the leadership role involves organising events, and coordinating activities and engaging with others daily. These responsibilities have enhanced my organisational and leadership skills and has given me the confidence to further grow the Mib South Aberdeeenshire Group and teach others within the group too so they can have knowledge to go off and organise their own events within their own businesses. Yes it can be daunting at times but each day you learn something new and learn how to incorporate this into your own business.

  3. Building Confidence: Stepping into a leadership position boosted my confidence, immensly as I love to guide others.( And chat too!!!!)  This newfound confidence had many positive impacts especially when I had days where I doubted that my own work wasn't good enough to be presented to the world. I have gone from a quivering wreck who used to hide away to now holding my head high and being proud of what I do and of course all that the many talented ladies do within my group. I am incredibly blessed to have so many supportive ladies in my life now, not only in my rural area but further afield too.

  4. Expanding Networks: Being involved with the Mib South Aberdeenshire group has provided ample opportunities to expand my network. Since joining I have been able to connect with other leaders, influencers, and individuals who have contributed to my personal and professional growth, so that I in turn can pass this onto my group members. I have had many collabrations which in turn has increased productively in my wee crafting business and kept me open. I really don't think this would have happened if I had not taken that leap of faith into the world of networking.

So to conclude, I personally have found networking is the key to unlocking the full potential of not only your business journey but your personal journey too.

Through connecting and attending networking events you gain so much knowledge and friendships too and most importantly lots of fun along the way. So if you are ready to embrace the power of connection,, learn, grow, and watch as your business and influence flourish, get in touch to join us over in Mums in Business South Aberdeenshire. Amazing post! And it's definitely opening my eyes to the thought of becoming a MIB Leader too. I think that's what is missing out of my puzzle. A local group, a community of support. xx
