The sharp sting and then throbbing pain of a green ant shoots down my leg… I look down and there are about 20 green ants all over my leg. Jumping up, I brush them off with reckless abandon. I didn’t care where these little buggers ended up as long as it wasn’t not on me.

After dropping a few f* bombs - thankfully the kids weren’t home. I decided taking on a nest of ants was a bit above my pay grade and moved elsewhere. The pain down my leg really got me thinking if a garden really needs green ants or not.

I decided to draw the little fellas but first a bit of research. Did you know that there are Green Tree ants and Green Head ants. The green head ants are the ones who are taking up residence in my garden. Although they give a nasty nip they are pretty good at cleaning up garden waste.
