Welcome to the Marketing Mindset and Motherhood podcast.

Let's have a little bite-sized chat about marketing, shall we?

Now anybody as a mom in business feel slightly overwhelmed at all of the things you have to do in order to be able to grow your business?

Not just me, no.

No.

So one of the things that get asked about all the time, because I am responsible for growing the world's largest organization for moms in business, which is mind blowing when I say out loud.

And I've done that through organic marketing.

Now I have not studied marketing in depth.

I have studied people.

And I think when it comes to marketing, what I want you to understand is this.

The more you understand about people, the more that you understand about the people that you want to attract into your business, the more that you understand about your ideal client, the more that you understand about your team, the more you understand about yourself, the better you get at marketing your product, the better you get at marketing yourself, the better that you get at connecting with your audience through content.

Now there are a hundred different people out there telling you a hundred different things and it can be overwhelming.

It can be confusing.

Now I want you to go back to basics.

I want you to be thinking about who you are, who you are at the core, what your morals and values are, what your ethics are, what you want to achieve here in the world.

Number one, most important thing is that, right?

Number two, most important thing is who is your ideal client?

Now I know it's such a boring conversation and a conversation you've probably heard a hundred times, but it is so important.

If you don't know who you're marketing to.

If you don't know the type of person that's going to buy or, or consume your product, how are you supposed to connect with them?

So I want you to take five minutes out of your diary time today and really, really think about that.

Do I know who my ideal client is?

Do I really understand what makes that person tick?

Do I really understand what makes that person turned on?

Do I understand what turns that person off because that's just as important as understanding what turns them on.

Do I understand what their habits are?

Do I understand what their stresses and strains are?

Do I understand what they enjoy?

What makes them light up?

What they're living for?

What they're going after?

What is going to make them buy from you?

When you're marketing, all you're doing is communicating to that person, hopefully to that person on how it is you can benefit their life.

How it is that your product or service can impact them as a person, as a business, as a business owner, as a parent, as a consumer.

If you're not doing that through your marketing currently, you're missing a trick.

Marketing is one of the most important things to be spending time on in your business and most often people neglect it.

They neglect it because they don't really understand how to do it.

They get so consumed in the latest update on social media, the latest thing, the latest trend, the latest algorithm hack.

The reality is it's all bollocks.

What you need to be doing is focusing on the person that you are and focusing on the person that you're trying to communicate with.

So stop.

Get out there and market yourself.

Get out there and market your product.

Understand how to connect with those people.

Go and ask them today, how could I most effectively show up for you?

How can I most effectively communicate with you?

How can I most effectively deliver my products or service to you?

Am I doing a good job of that?

Do you know who I am?

Do you know what I do?

Or have you no idea?

And if they have no idea, then we can improve.

That's amazing.

Don't think of it as a negative thing.

Think of it as a positive thing.

So when it comes to marketing, don't overcomplicate it.

One of the things I did well, and boy did I do a lot of things wrong, but one of the things I did very well when building my company is connect on a deeper level with my audience.

I know what they want.

I know what they eat for breakfast.

I know who their kids are.

I know if they don't have kids.

I know if they're struggling in their relationships.

I know if they're struggling in their business.

That helps me market our company most effectively.

So take that time today.

Think about all of those things and let me know how you get on.

That's it for today, guys.

And that is a wrap for another inspiring episode of Marketing Mindset and Motherhood podcast.
