Disney's latest misstep involves the iconic character Tinker Bell. Once a beloved figure at Disney World engagement park in Florida, she's now been axed from meet and greets. Why? Disney labeled her as "potentially problematic" due to her appearance in the classic 1953 film, Peter Pan.
According to The New York Times, Disney deemed Tinker Bell as "potentially problematic" because she was seen as "body conscious" and desired Peter Pan's attention. It seems absurd that a female character being attracted to a strong male figure could be deemed offensive. But for the liberal lords of Disney, it's apparently a no-go.
Captain Hook: The Next Casualty
Not even Captain Hook, the quintessential villain of Peter Pan, is spared from Disney's woke scrutiny. The character, known for his iconic hook, has now been branded as problematic. Why? Because apparently, having a hook is a "negative portrayal of those with disabilities."
So cartoon pirates are now off-limits because Disney fears it might offend someone with a prosthetic in real life. It begs the question: How far will Disney go before their woke agenda ruins them?
