BECOME THE GREATEST VERSION OF YOURSELVES!

The new year is a time for beginnings, so what better way to start it than by concentrating on your skincare goals?

  • Want to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Clear up your skin concerns
  • Just keep a healthy, radiant glow

Well you’re in the right place!!!!

Back to basics

It can be easy to overcomplicate your skincare routine, by layering countless creams and serums on top of one another and expect results, but this isn’t usually the case. Instead, simplifying your routine is usually much more effective.

Finding out what type of skin you have is the first step in streamlining your routine. Once you know whether you have sensitive, dry, oily, combination skin, or anything in between, you can select the formulas that best suit your skin type.

The core components of your skincare routine should be a good cleanser, toner, moisturiser, and sunscreen. These four items will keep your complexion clear, nourished, and protected.

Using products with only a handful of natural and organic ingredients keeps your skincare routine feeling fresh and minimal with no hidden nasties pumped in there.

Remove make up every night

Ready for the simplest resolution this year? Always take your makeup off before bed. Makeup left on overnight can cause a variety of skin issues, such as clogged pores, breakouts, and early ageing.

We know that after a long day, all you want to do is collapse in bed, but removing makeup doesn't have to be a chore! Effective, natural cleansers will make your nighttime routine a breeze.

Check Your Diet

I don’t want to sound too cliché, but the 'you are what you eat' is an old chestnut we can really get behind. It's not exactly news that skin and bodily health is affected by the foods we eat. So what should you be tucking into?

A good place to start would be with your usual five-a-day. Fruit and veg is packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, just like Tropic’s natural ingredients. Avocados, nuts and seeds are especially great as they’re filled with healthy fats that help restore moisture to the skin.

Clean your applicators

Hands up if you can say you regularly clean and care for your make up brushes????

Did you know by not washing your brushes regularly can cause bacteria and sebum to build up, and these impurities can lead to irritation, acne, and even infections.

Taking care of your makeup tools is easy and can be done with a few items you have at home. Use a mild shampoo or a brush cleaner to keep your brushes clean.

Weekly face masks

While these resolutions may sound hard to maintain, you can use them as an opportunity for some self-indulgence. Go on….you deserve it!

Who doesn’t love a good face mask? After a hot shower or bath, face masks help calm the skin and are a great way to practise self-care. Most think of face masks as being a now-and-then treat, but there’s actually some good reason to use them every week.

Clay masks are ideal for oily and acne-prone skin as they can help to absorb excess oils and unclog pores. Hydration masks, on the other hand, can be great for dry skin, as they help to replenish lost moisture.

For those with combination skin, a multi-masking approach can be useful, where different masks are applied to different areas of the face depending on their specific needs.

Consistency is key

Remember, skincare is not a one-time thing; it requires dedication and commitment.

Good skincare takes time and shouldn’t be rushed. Give any new changes to your regime a couple of weeks before you abandon them and try not to get discouraged. You’ve got this!
